All about cruising along the River Seine through northern France

Normandy's D-Day beaches... 75 years later

Following in freedom's footsteps on the D-Day invasion beaches of Normandy

Their names – Juno, Omaha, Gold, Utah, Sword – bring back visions of that fateful day – June 6, 1944, known forever as "D-Day" – when Allied forces converged on these Normandy beaches to change the tide of World War II, and begin the Allied liberation of Western Europe from Nazi Germany’s control. To walk on these beaches today – 75 years later – with a local expert... explore Pointe du Hoc and Omaha Beach... and pay your respects at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, final resting place of 9,300 Allied troops... is to enjoy the freedom of the time and place selflessly given by the men who gave their lives for it here. It’s hard not to be humbled in their presence.

Tauck Exclusive – Early-opening at Monet's Giverny

Discovering Monet on an early-opening visit to his home and gardens in Giverny

Impressionist master Claude Monet arranged the compositions of his garden landscapes often by rearranging his garden. It was, after all, his outdoor studio. And since it’s carefully maintained to look like it did during the painter's lifetime, you can sense what it was like to be present at the moment when life became art. Observe his water lilies in a book or a print – or even better, on canvas at the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris – then experience them firsthand, where art becomes life, at his restored home and gardens in Giverny... where you'll enjoy a Tauck Exclusive early-opening visit to this remarkable place before the normal daily crowds appear.

This relaxing new 7-night cruise offers enticing highlights of northwest France from Paris to Normandy... and you only unpack and pack once!

Important Information

Health and Activity

You'll find Activity and Pace Levels on all of our trips to give you a better idea of physical activity level – higher numbers mean a more active journey. To fully enjoy most journeys, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances; some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot and may include unpaved and uneven surfaces. Please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice.

Protect Your Travel Investment

Deposit Protection Plan

Deposit Protection Plan – Tauck provides a “Deposit Protection Plan” at a cost of AUD $75 per person per tour or cruise. The cost is non-refundable and non-transferable and must be paid at the time of booking with your deposit. It only applies when you cancel your tour or cruise prior to final payment date. The deposit held in credit will exclude fees imposed by third parties in relation to air, rail travel, hotels, transfer or applicable cruise cabins. When booking airfares through Tauck (including when taking advantage of a special offer that includes air travel), standard airline cancellation fees will apply. In some cases, airfares will be non-refundable. In the event of cancellation, these fees will be deducted from the deposit paid, and therefore the credit being held. We will only credit the remainder of deposit to a future tour or cruise booking if you book within 24 months of cancellation of the original Tauck tour or cruise. This offer expires after the 24 months. We will only credit the remainder of the deposit to a future tour or cruise booking Balance Due and it can’t be used as a credit for the initial deposit of a future tour or cruise booking. The Tauck “Deposit Protection Plan” only covers a Tauck tour or cruise and it does not replace Travel Insurance, which we recommend at the time of booking.
