Private whale-watching cruise

Day 12

The ultimate whale-watching experience off the shores of Juneau...

Your quest for spotting the magnificent whales of Alaska, in sear we will also be on the lookout for bald eagles, seals, sea lions, black bear, countless birds and more of Alaska’s wildlife. The star of these whale-watching cruises is, of course, the humpback whale – but you will always be on the lookout for playful orcas. Humpback whales migrate, sometimes up to 3,000 miles, to summertime Northern Pacific waters; they usually come up for air every 10 to 15 minutes, and are known as the "acrobats of the ocean" for their breaching, rolling and flipper / tale slapping antics.

Private flightseeing above Denali National Park

Day 2

One of life's memorable experiences – flightseeing over Denali National Park, near North America's highest peak...

An experienced Alaska bush pilot who loves to share Alaska’s most inaccessible and spectacularly-wild setting – up close – takes you on a flightseeing adventure around the southern side of Denali. Take in all possible views of the summit on a flight over the vast Alaska wilderness, untouched by modern man. View incredible glaciers, peaks and valleys soaring above open alpine tundra and glacier-fed, braided rivers – with a possibility of spotting cascading icefalls and wildlife such as moose, bear, swans and the occasional wolf or coyote.

Hotel Captain Cook

Night 1

"It’s not just the little things, it’s everything..."

With sweeping views of downtown Anchorage, Cook Inlet or Chugach Mountains, Hotel Captain Cook is definitely the preferred address in Anchorage. The hotel was inducted into Historic Hotels of America, the official travel organization of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, lauded for preserving and maintaining its historic integrity, architecture and ambiance. Most notably, the hotel's private art collection celebrates the adventures of Captain James Cook – and along with the hotel’s architecture itself, stained glass, paintings, woodwork and sculpture tell his story. The legendary sea captain and the hotel that bears his name share two great qualities: a love of nature and an indomitable Alaskan spirit.

Seven-night cruise aboard a Princess ship

Days 8 – 15

Cruise Alaska's coastal waters in style...

Cruising Alaska's magnificent Inside Passage, coastline, glaciers and bays aboard your Princess ship is a true voyage of discovery. Each Princess ship is a destination in itself with a wide range of wonderful amenities and delightful diversions from the Lotus Spa®, hot tubs, gym and fitness area, a swim-against-the-current lap pool and swimming pools to entertainment such as Movies Under the Stars® showing first-run feature-length films, a theatre for live performances by musicians, singers and dancers, a casino, and themed bars and lounges that range from a cozy space to sip cocktails to a dance floor and nightclub-style entertainment.

International Air is additional. Contact Tauck for rates on international air for travel originating in Australia (subject to availability).

What you need to know

Before You Go

Required

Travel Documents, Booking and Deposits, and more

No matter where your destination may be, you should bring identification with you; a valid passport is always an appropriate form of identification. Contact your booking agent for information about all necessary documents required for your journey, such as passport and visa information or documentation required for transportation security measures.

Important Information

Health and Activity

You'll find Activity and Pace Levels on all of our trips to give you a better idea of physical activity level – higher numbers mean a more active journey. To fully enjoy most journeys, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances; some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot and may include unpaved and uneven surfaces. Please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice.

Protect Your Travel Investment

Deposit Protection Plan

Deposit Protection Plan – Tauck provides a “Deposit Protection Plan” at a cost of AUD $75 per person per tour or cruise. The cost is non-refundable and non-transferable and must be paid at the time of booking with your deposit. It only applies when you cancel your tour or cruise prior to final payment date. The deposit held in credit will exclude fees imposed by third parties in relation to air, rail travel, hotels, transfer or applicable cruise cabins. When booking airfares through Tauck (including when taking advantage of a special offer that includes air travel), standard airline cancellation fees will apply. In some cases, airfares will be non-refundable. In the event of cancellation, these fees will be deducted from the deposit paid, and therefore the credit being held. We will only credit the remainder of deposit to a future tour or cruise booking if you book within 24 months of cancellation of the original Tauck tour or cruise. This offer expires after the 24 months. We will only credit the remainder of the deposit to a future tour or cruise booking Balance Due and it can’t be used as a credit for the initial deposit of a future tour or cruise booking. The Tauck “Deposit Protection Plan” only covers a Tauck tour or cruise and it does not replace Travel Insurance, which we recommend at the time of booking.
