Welcome to Celebrating America's 250th

From New York's storied avenues to the cobblestone streets of Philadelphia and the grand monuments of Washington, D.C., a special journey honoring the spirit of a nation born in revolution and defined by its ideals. Exclusive events with documentary filmmaker Ken Burns and Pulitzer Prize–winning historian Rick Atkinson offer a deeper lens on the Revolution's meaning, blending past and present in a celebration two and a half centuries in the making.

Join Tauck for a one-time, seven-day experience through the birthplace of the United States, from New York City to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Stay in landmark hotels including the JW Marriott Essex House, The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia, and the Willard InterContinental; attend private talks and receptions with noted historians; and visit the sites where the Revolution unfolded – Washington Crossing, Valley Forge, Independence Hall, and the National Archives after hours. Along the way, history's voices rise again – in the places where Washington took command, where independence was declared, and where the enduring words of liberty are preserved beneath glass. It's a journey through the ideas, places, and people that continue to shape the American story.

Meet filmmaker Ken Burns

Attend a keynote presentation in New York City

Our keynote event is an exclusive talk with award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns, whose work has redefined how we see the American story. In an engaging conversation, he shares his perspective on the Revolutionary War and its lasting influence on the nation's identity, offering a glimpse into his upcoming documentary series, "The American Revolution." Exclusive after-hours evening at the National Archives

Reception, dinner and presentation at the National Archives – where history is illuminated after hours

Your memorable week concludes with an exclusive evening at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. An evening inside the National Archives is unlike any other – an experience steeped in history, yet deeply personal. When the doors close to the public and the lights soften, guests step into the quiet heart of the nation's story. After a special presentation, visit the Rotunda – with private access to view the Charters of Freedom; the evening continues with a reception and dinner within the historic surroundings of the Archives. Conversation lingers in the glow of this extraordinary setting – a rare opportunity to dine where the ideals that shaped America are preserved and honored every day.

An exclusive presentation by award-winning historian Friederike Baer

Reflections on the American Revolution in historic Philadelphia

Friederike Baer is a German-American historian whose work illuminates the overlooked experiences of the nearly 30,000 German soldiers who fought alongside the British during the American Revolution. A specialist in early American and transatlantic history, she is the author of Hessians: German Soldiers in the American Revolutionary War (Oxford, 2022), winner of multiple national prizes. Presented in the birthplace of American independence, her talk adds fresh perspective to the global dimensions of the Revolution and to the people whose stories continue to shape its legacy.

Attend an exclusive presentation by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Rick Atkinson

Illuminating the American Revolution's legacy in the inspiring setting of the National Archives

Historian, author, and Pulitzer Prize winner Rick Atkinson is one of America's most respected chroniclers of war and leadership. Best known for his "Liberation Trilogy" on World War II and his ongoing "Revolution Trilogy," he brings a storyteller's eye and a historian's precision to the nation's defining moments. In this exclusive lecture at the National Archives, Atkinson turns his focus to the American Revolution – its human drama, unlikely triumphs, and the fragile beginnings of democracy itself – offering fresh perspective on the ideals and individuals that shaped the nation's earliest chapter during this semiquincentennial year.
