The World Next Door

Time stands still in the Canadian Maritimes... preserving a way of life that honors the land and sea – and a cultural mix of early French, Irish, Scottish and English influences.

Time feels expansive in the Canadian Maritimes – where tides rise stories high, fishing boats bob in sheltered harbors, and heritage runs as deep as the coastal fog. This journey spans three provinces – Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick – each offering distinct landscapes and cultural threads woven from Acadian, Gaelic, Mi'kmaq, and Loyalist roots. Explore the colorful waterfront of Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and walk windswept trails beside the sea-carved cliffs of the Fundy Trail Parkway. In Charlottetown, step into the pages of Anne of Green Gables, then savor oysters and mussels harvested just offshore. Watch the tide retreat beneath your feet at Hopewell Rocks, cruise Shediac Bay with a lobster trap demonstration, and sample sturgeon caviar in Saint John. From storytelling in Mi'kmaq territory to a bagpipe performance on Prince Edward Island's red shores, this is a journey of vivid contrasts and quiet moments – where every stop brings you closer to the soul of the Maritimes. You'll be welcomed with genuine warmth by those who call these shores home – inviting you to experience the Maritimes not just as a place you visit, but as one that feels like home. Read Less

A private welcome reception and dinner at Halifax Citadel

Day 1

Dining Amidst History at Halifax's Iconic fortress

Step into the storied past of Nova Scotia with an exclusive welcome dinner and reception at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. Perched atop Citadel Hill, this 19th-century star-shaped fortress has stood sentinel over Halifax since 1749, bearing witness to centuries of Canadian history. As you enter through its formidable gates, you're transported to an era of red-coated Highlanders and the rhythmic cadence of military drums. The evening unfolds within the Citadel's historic walls, where the ambiance is enriched by period architecture and the soft glow of lanterns. Guests are treated to a curated menu that pays homage to regional flavors, all while surrounded by exhibits and artifacts that narrate tales of bravery and heritage. This unique setting offers more than just a meal; it's an immersive experience that intertwines culinary delight with the rich tapestry of Canada's maritime legacy. A fitting and memorable beginning, the Halifax Citadel dinner welcomes you with warm hospitality and a deep sense of history.

Prince Edward Island

A Day on the Island: Culture, Coastlines & Culinary Delights

Discover the beauty and heritage of Prince Edward Island... cross by ferry for two days exploring its wild coastlines and literary landmarks, from the windswept shores of PEI National Park to the iconic Green Gables House, with tastings of oysters and preserves that showcase the island's seafaring spirit and farm-to-table charm.

Dinner at Delta Beauséjour

Day 3

That extra flourish that makes a meal at Windjammer so special...

An unforgettable dining experience awaits at Windjammer, the perennial CAA Four Diamond Award winner at Delta Beauséjour. Windjammers sailed their passengers and cargo to exotic ports throughout the world in the mid-1800s; more than two dozen were built in Moncton, on the shores of the Peticodiac River. Throughout the growing season, Executive Chef Stefan Müller showcases the freshest and finest products from within a 100-mile radius of Greater Moncton. From cheese to lamb, from seafood to fruits and vegetables, the 100 Mile Menu celebrates the very best that the farmers, ranchers and fishers from the area have to offer.
