Legendary Journeys and Adventures

Dreamers, visionaries, and unsung heroes shaped the preservation of three great national parks of the American West – Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion – so all who came after would experience their magnificence and relish the moment...

You’ll start “climbing” it at the incredible Grand Canyon... stay on it through the Painted Desert... into Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, with Lake Powell and magnificent natural arches like Rainbow Bridge in the Navajo Nation... past the Vermillion, White, Grey and Pink Cliffs... on to the pinnacles and hoodoos of Bryce Canyon... and right into the cliffs and valleys of Zion National Park. “It” is the Grand Staircase of the Escalante – a vast, unbroken expanse of colorful sedimentary rock layers that took nature over 200 million years to create, and envisioned by a 19th-century geologist as a series of gigantic “steps” stretching across the Southwest. And all these wonders are part of it... Read Less

Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North

Night 1

Desert magic at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North

In the high Sonoran Desert, Scottsdale, Arizona is a place of western lore and cosmopolitan culture, a place of awe-inspiring beauty and spectacular golf, a place unlike any other. Here, nestled into the foothills of Pinnacle Peak – amid towering, multi-armed saguaro cacti – the adobe casitas of Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North embody the desert’s magic through thoughtful design and the outstanding talent of regional artists and craftspeople. Here is where your "America's Canyonlands" journey begins.

Inside-the-park stays in the national parks

Days 2, 5 and 6

Experience the great national parks of the West at inside-the-park lodges

Experience the great national parks of the West as a true insider, exploring from sought-after, classic national park lodges (several on the National Register of Historic Places) inside the hearts of Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion national parks. Kachina Lodge in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona; The Lodge at Bryce Canyon in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah; and Zion Lodge in Zion National Park, Utah – authentic, rustic and perfectly located – are often sold out a year in advance.

Flightseeing over Rainbow Bridge

Day 4

See Rainbow Bridge and other canyons of Lake Powell on a flightseeing excursion

The Glen Canyon Dam took 17 years to fill up Glen Canyon, transforming the Colorado River into 186-mile-long Lake Powell! Fringed by fjord-like canyons, it’s one of the largest man-made bodies of water ever created; there’s no lake like it anywhere. We’ll take you to see its hidden wonders by air on an included 30-minute morning flightseeing excursion showcasing incredible views of the red-rock sculptures found here, including Rainbow Bridge, the world’s largest natural arch – about as tall as the Statue of Liberty!

Tauck Exclusive – Champagne cruise on Lake Powell

Day 3

Private cruising on Lake Powell

When Charlton Heston and fellow astronauts crash land in the 1960s movie "Planet of the Apes," the filming location was the stunning blue waters of Lake Powell… although Heston’s character guesses that they are “light years from Earth on an unnamed planet.” Man-made Lake Powell was created by the Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River – and it boasts crystal-clear waters, red-rock grottoes, waterfalls and secluded beaches. Enjoy a private dinner cruise under the stars aboard the yacht Canyon Princess… toasting the canyons with a glass of champagne... as well as a day cruise to discover one of named-planet Earth's great landscapes.

Small Group Departures

Our small group departures, averaging just 24 guests, are designed for travelers who want more time to experience each destination up close and personally. One of the benefits of small group travel is the personalized service and attention you’ll enjoy. Small groups enable our Tauck Directors to spend more time in the places you explore with more opportunities to connect with them. Smaller groups foster camaraderie and lasting friendships among like-minded travelers; you'll engage more closely with local experts and enjoy enhanced insider access, ease of travel and freedom to linger longer.

Solo Traveler Savings

Traveling solo doesn't mean traveling alone – with Tauck, it means camaraderie on a journey with like-minded travelers who share similar interests, enjoying the spirit of travel that makes exploring the world a necessary part of life – and sharing the special travel experiences found on Tauck’s guided land trips and cruises that create lifetime memories. For 90+ years, solo travelers have found a special "travel" home with Tauck in destinations the world over – and we’re offering solo travelers an additional reason to travel with Tauck – special Solo Traveler Savings on select departures.

What you need to know

Before You Go

Required

Travel Documents, Booking and Deposits, and more

No matter where your destination may be, you should bring identification with you; a valid passport is always an appropriate form of identification. Contact your booking agent for information about all necessary documents required for your journey, such as passport and visa information or documentation required for transportation security measures.

Important Information

Health and Activity

You'll find Activity and Pace Levels on all of our trips to give you a better idea of physical activity level – higher numbers mean a more active journey. To fully enjoy most journeys, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances; some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot and may include unpaved and uneven surfaces. Please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice.

Protect Your Travel Investment

Deposit Protection Plan

Deposit Protection Plan – Tauck provides a “Deposit Protection Plan” at a cost of AUD $75 per person per tour or cruise. The cost is non-refundable and non-transferable and must be paid at the time of booking with your deposit. It only applies when you cancel your tour or cruise prior to final payment date. The deposit held in credit will exclude fees imposed by third parties in relation to air, rail travel, hotels, transfer or applicable cruise cabins. When booking airfares through Tauck (including when taking advantage of a special offer that includes air travel), standard airline cancellation fees will apply. In some cases, airfares will be non-refundable. In the event of cancellation, these fees will be deducted from the deposit paid, and therefore the credit being held. We will only credit the remainder of deposit to a future tour or cruise booking if you book within 24 months of cancellation of the original Tauck tour or cruise. This offer expires after the 24 months. We will only credit the remainder of the deposit to a future tour or cruise booking Balance Due and it can’t be used as a credit for the initial deposit of a future tour or cruise booking. The Tauck “Deposit Protection Plan” only covers a Tauck tour or cruise and it does not replace Travel Insurance, which we recommend at the time of booking.
