Hiking at Lake Louise and Jasper National Park

Days 2 and 3

Trekking through the Rockies' wilderness wonderlands

Breathe in the fresh mountain air and expect to see some pretty dramatic sights – not to mention the moose, deer, bighorn sheep or mountain goats you might spy along the way – as you join our local guide on a hike along the shores of shimmering Lake Louise that's alive with wilderness fun in Banff National Park. More hiking opportunities await in magnificent Maligne Canyon and at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in the heart of Jasper National Park, as you explore this amazing natural playground with your family!

Whitewater rafting adventure on the Athabasca River

Day 4

Making a splash on the Athabasca River

Pile into a rubber raft with your family and new Tauck Bridges friends for an adrenaline-pumping ride along the whitewaters of Alberta's glacier-fed Athabasca River, fresh from the Columbia Icefield, where the wilderness and the sparkling waters will take your breath away. Check out some waterfalls and other amazing scenery on the way. It's a perfect adventure for beginners... and experienced rafters too!

A "cool ride" across Athabasca Glacier

Day 5

Frozen magic aboard an Ice Explorer

Glaciers owned the landscapes of the Canadian Rockies for centuries, "freeze-framing" the wilderness you see today. So how do you walk on a glacier whose ice is hundreds of years old? Very carefully! Actually, on your family's visit to the Columbia Icefield's Athabasca Glacier in Jasper National Park, a giant Ice Explorer vehicle takes you to a spot where you can get out for a slippery stroll across glacial ice more than 400 years old! But if you hear ice cracking, don't worry... it's just a glacier thing.

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

Day 1

At Lake Louise, a true gem in the Canadian Rockies

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Banff National Park was originally built in 1890 as a magnet for well-heeled travelers – a "railway hotel" designed to accommodate the wealthy visitors who began flocking to Banff in the Canadian Rockies in the late 19th century. Offering your family the most modern amenities – including an indoor pool and a state-of-the-art fitness center – in one of the most picturesque lakeside settings on Earth, the "diamond in the wilderness" is one of the most-frequently photographed hotels in the world.

Important Information

Health and Activity

You'll find Activity and Pace Levels on all of our trips to give you a better idea of physical activity level – higher numbers mean a more active journey. Protect Your Travel Investment

Deposit Protection Plan

Deposit Protection Plan – Tauck provides a “Deposit Protection Plan” at a cost of AUD $75 per person per tour or cruise. The cost is non-refundable and non-transferable and must be paid at the time of booking with your deposit. It only applies when you cancel your tour or cruise prior to final payment date. The deposit held in credit will exclude fees imposed by third parties in relation to air, rail travel, hotels, transfer or applicable cruise cabins. When booking airfares through Tauck (including when taking advantage of a special offer that includes air travel), standard airline cancellation fees will apply. In some cases, airfares will be non-refundable. In the event of cancellation, these fees will be deducted from the deposit paid, and therefore the credit being held. We will only credit the remainder of deposit to a future tour or cruise booking if you book within 24 months of cancellation of the original Tauck tour or cruise. This offer expires after the 24 months. We will only credit the remainder of the deposit to a future tour or cruise booking Balance Due and it can’t be used as a credit for the initial deposit of a future tour or cruise booking. The Tauck “Deposit Protection Plan” only covers a Tauck tour or cruise and it does not replace Travel Insurance, which we recommend at the time of booking.
