Two nights on Capri at the Grand Hotel Quisisana

Nights 4 and 5

Spend two nights on the Isle of Capri at a landmark hotel that's been synonymous with glamor since 1860...

Originally built in 1845 as a sanatorium (Quisisana means ‘here one heals’), the Grand Hotel Quisisana – set amidst lovely formal gardens near the Piazza Umberto in the heart of the Isle of Capri – is steeped in history and the epitome of island glitz, having attracted an exclusive crowd since opening as a hotel in 1860. Over the decades, the likes of Ernest Hemingway, Jean Paul Sartre and many others have passed through the marble lobby and admired the surrounding natural beauty of the hotel’s manicured park. Now, you can join them with a two-night stay at the the Grand Hotel Quisisana – considered among the best hotels in world by the sophisticated readers of both Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler.

Capri by convertible car

Days 4 – 5

A private convertible car whisks you across enchanting Capri for awe-inspiring views

Once an imperial vacation spot where Roman emperors and their entourages spent their summers, the legendary island of Capri – situated across the Gulf of Naples from the city of Sorrento – has during more recent centuries become famous as a fashionable retreat for writers, artists, composers, and international celebrities. On your visit to this enchanted isle, you’ll be chauffeured like a jet-setter across the island’s famous clifftop roads in a private convertible car for sightseeing amidst Capri’s picturesque towns and historic villas, lush garden terraces with panoramic views of the sea, and breathtaking rock formations along the coast.

Discover Aragonese Castle

Day 3

Explore the Aragonese Castle, a hilltop fortress linked by a bridge to the historic island of Ischia

Occupying the summit of a rugged volcanic islet that today is connected by a causeway (Ponte Aragonese) to the larger island of Ischia, the imposing Aragonese Castle was originally constructed by Hiero I of Syracuse around 474 BC, employing two towers to control the movements of enemy fleets. About a century and a half later, the fortress was captured first by the Romans, and then by the Parthenopeans, and altered continuously throughout the centuries. During the 1400s, the first stone bridge linking the rock to the island of Ischia was built by Alfonso V of Aragon, who also fortified the fortress’ walls to ward off attacks by pirates; you’ll visit the well-preserved castle with a local guide.

Travel Documents, Booking and Deposits, and more

Important Information

Health and Activity

You'll find Activity and Pace Levels on all of our trips to give you a better idea of physical activity level – higher numbers mean a more active journey. To fully enjoy most journeys, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances; some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot and may include unpaved and uneven surfaces. Please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice.

Protect Your Travel Investment

Deposit Protection Plan

Deposit Protection Plan – Tauck provides a “Deposit Protection Plan” at a cost of AUD $75 per person per tour or cruise. The cost is non-refundable and non-transferable and must be paid at the time of booking with your deposit. It only applies when you cancel your tour or cruise prior to final payment date. The deposit held in credit will exclude fees imposed by third parties in relation to air, rail travel, hotels, transfer or applicable cruise cabins. When booking airfares through Tauck (including when taking advantage of a special offer that includes air travel), standard airline cancellation fees will apply. In some cases, airfares will be non-refundable. In the event of cancellation, these fees will be deducted from the deposit paid, and therefore the credit being held. We will only credit the remainder of deposit to a future tour or cruise booking if you book within 24 months of cancellation of the original Tauck tour or cruise. This offer expires after the 24 months. We will only credit the remainder of the deposit to a future tour or cruise booking Balance Due and it can’t be used as a credit for the initial deposit of a future tour or cruise booking. The Tauck “Deposit Protection Plan” only covers a Tauck tour or cruise and it does not replace Travel Insurance, which we recommend at the time of booking.
