Vail to Boulder via Rocky Mountain National Park

Day 6

Drive through the alpine wonderland of Rocky Mountain National Park

Nowhere else in the US can you see such a great expanse of alpine country with such ease as within the 415 square miles of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. In the words of award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns: “The glory of Rocky Mountain National Park is that you can pull over at a scenic view and have a spectacular experience, and be 10 feet from your car... It feels like you’re on top of the world.” See what he means as you drive through the park en route from Vail to Boulder, and view the Continental Divide, splitting North America with a serpentine line and separating streamflows east from west.

Hot Air Ballooning (additional cost)

Day 7

Optional hot air balloon in Boulder

In Boulder you'll have an opportunity to view Colorado's majestic Rocky Mountains and the Flatirons from a particularly exhilarating vantage point, at a particularly exciting time – dawn – aboard a hot air balloon (optional, at additional cost per person); the amazing sunrise ride includes views of farmland and endless prairies stretching out below. It's an experience you won't forget anytime soon!

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail

Nights 4 and 5

A luxurious year-round alpine resort in the heart of Vail

Colorado’s legendary Vail Mountain rises above Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail, a year-round alpine resort in the heart of the chic ski resort village of Vail – a four-seasons wonderland offering spectacular vistas and a luxurious lifestyle. Explore the back bowls... recharge in the resort's Forbes Five-Star Spa... and cap off your days with an al-fresco swim under the stars.

Small Group Departures

Our small group departures, averaging just 24 guests, are designed for travelers who want more time to experience each destination up close and personally. One of the benefits of small group travel is the personalized service and attention you’ll enjoy. Small groups enable our Tauck Directors to spend more time in the places you explore with more opportunities to connect with them. Smaller groups foster camaraderie and lasting friendships among like-minded travelers; you'll engage more closely with local experts and enjoy enhanced insider access, ease of travel and freedom to linger longer.

Solo Traveler Savings

Traveling solo doesn't mean traveling alone – with Tauck, it means camaraderie on a journey with like-minded travelers who share similar interests, enjoying the spirit of travel that makes exploring the world a necessary part of life – and sharing the special travel experiences found on Tauck’s guided land trips and cruises that create lifetime memories. For 90+ years, solo travelers have found a special "travel" home with Tauck in destinations the world over – and we’re offering solo travelers an additional reason to travel with Tauck – special Solo Traveler Savings on select departures.

Airport Transfers Included

Upon arrival and departure, transfers to and from your hotel are included as noted.

What you need to know

Before You Go

Travel Documents, Booking and Deposits, and more

No matter where your destination may be, you should bring identification with you; a valid passport is always an appropriate form of identification. Contact your booking agent for information about all necessary documents required for your journey, such as passport and visa information or documentation required for transportation security measures.

Important Information

Health and Activity

You'll find Activity and Pace Levels on all of our trips to give you a better idea of physical activity level – higher numbers mean a more active journey. To fully enjoy most journeys, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances; some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot and may include unpaved and uneven surfaces. Please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice.

Protect Your Travel Investment

Deposit Protection Plan

Deposit Protection Plan – Tauck provides a “Deposit Protection Plan” at a cost of AUD $75 per person per tour or cruise. The cost is non-refundable and non-transferable and must be paid at the time of booking with your deposit. It only applies when you cancel your tour or cruise prior to final payment date. The deposit held in credit will exclude fees imposed by third parties in relation to air, rail travel, hotels, transfer or applicable cruise cabins. When booking airfares through Tauck (including when taking advantage of a special offer that includes air travel), standard airline cancellation fees will apply. In some cases, airfares will be non-refundable. In the event of cancellation, these fees will be deducted from the deposit paid, and therefore the credit being held. We will only credit the remainder of deposit to a future tour or cruise booking if you book within 24 months of cancellation of the original Tauck tour or cruise. This offer expires after the 24 months. We will only credit the remainder of the deposit to a future tour or cruise booking Balance Due and it can’t be used as a credit for the initial deposit of a future tour or cruise booking. The Tauck “Deposit Protection Plan” only covers a Tauck tour or cruise and it does not replace Travel Insurance, which we recommend at the time of booking.
