Alaskan family fun sunrise to sunset... meet champion Iditarod sled dogs… take a flightseeing tour over Denali National Park… go jet boating, wilderness hiking, kayaking... take a rail trip... spot Alaska's magnificent wildlife…. learn about native Alaskans and their rich cultural heritage…

An Alaska family vacation of a lifetime... Travel by land, sea and air on a family vacation designed for every generation of your family to enjoy, together. Your travels begin with one night in Anchorage, then it's off to the northern interior for a jet boat ride, a wilderness hike, a geocaching treasure hunt and two nights at a wilderness lodge. Meet Alaskan huskies at a dog sled training facility and soar above the foothills of Denali on a flightseeing adventure. Travel to Alaska's alpine playground in Kenai for a choice of activities including kayaking, river rafting and a guided wilderness hike in the Kenai River region. Cruise the Kenai Fjords with a naturalist who points out wildlife along the way. Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to meet animals being rehabilitated (from moose to grizzly bears), and pan for gold at the Crow Creek Mine. Read Less

Flightsee over Denali National Park

Day 4

Flightsee over Denali National Park

Weather permitting, your family takes to the air on a flightseeing excursion over the foothills of Denali National Park for a chance to view the ice-clad summit of Denali. At 20,000+ ft., Denali is the crown of the 600-mile Alaska Range. The Athabascan people dubbed the huge mountain, "Denali," meaning the "Great One," and it more than lives up to the name. Soar over rugged peaks and beautiful, meandering glaciers on one of life's great adventures.

Outdoor family fun on the Kenai Peninsula, "Alaska's Playground"

Day 5

Kayak, River Raft or Hike

The mountains of the Kenai River Valley and the river's bright waters provide the perfect setting for a day of outdoor family fun with something for every age and generation. The Kenai Peninsula is named "Alaska's Playground" as the outdoor possibilities are just about endless, including a five-mile guided wilderness hike, a lake kayaking adventure, or a river float trip.

Pan for Gold at Crow Creek Gold Mine

Day 6

Learn about "gold fever" when your family pans for gold at Crow Creek Gold Mine

Your family gets an authentic, hands-on opportunity to relive Alaska's historic Gold Rush at Crow Creek Gold Mine. Established in 1896, Crow Creek Mine is one of Alaska's most renowned hydraulic gold mining operations. Meet a prospector, work with gold pans, shovels, and buckets as you pan for gold and learn about the mine and the arts of gold panning and platinum prospecting – and end your visit with a barbecue lunch.

The thing that inspired me was the sled dogs... one day, I'll be a sled dog musher.
